Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains Review

Although I have yet to completely switch over to all-natural skincare products, I do have a deep appreciation for brands that are focused on seeking out nature’s most novel yet effective ingredients. When I came across the Farmacy brand, which touts farm-grown, hand-picked botanicals as the core of the company, I had to give the Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains a whirl.

Farmacy claims to fuse age-old wisdom with cutting-edge technologies to create irritant-free bioactive skincare formulas for fresh, radiant skin. Farmacy beauty and skin products are powered by Echinacea GreenEnvy™, a unique variety of Echinacea Purpurea that contains the highest known concentration of the phytochemical Cichoric Acid, which is a potent natural antioxidant that helps protect and firm the skin by slowing down the enzymes that break down collagen (which helps skin maintain its elasticity). Cichoric Acid also stabilizes the skin pigmentation process to produce a more evenly toned complexion. Other ingredients include natural cranberry seeds, rice bran powder, white willow bark, carrot, green tea and marshmallow.

To apply, I dispense a few shakes of the grainy powder into my left hand and with the right hand sprinkle a few drops of water to create a foamy paste. The smell isn’t as chalky as one might expect. In fact, it smells slightly fresh – which you don’t expect from a powder-based formula. While the powder immediately dissolves into foam when mixed with water, the red specks of cranberry seeds remain in-tact, providing a deep exfoliation.

The formula claims to loosen dry skin cells, absorb excess oils, exfoliate, as well as soothe, protect and calm the skin, and the clean feeling is almost palpable the minute I begin to massage my face. After use, I’m surprised to discover that my face lacks the tightness or stickiness typically caused by synthetic cleansers, but instead, it feels fresh, silky and hydrated. I have been using the Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains for over a month, and I am pleased to say it is quite possibly my favorite exfoliating cleanser. Not only is my skin unusually smooth, but the typically enlarged pores on my nose have shrunk significantly – so much so that I’ve completely stopped using pore cleansing strips.

I have even stopped wearing face foundation throughout the workweek – although whether that’s due this product’s miraculous abilities, my lack of time, or a combination of both is still up for debate.

Because each application requires no more than two shakes of the powder, the product is worth the $30 investment, as it will last several months. As I said before, I’ve been using it for over a month, and I still have about two-thirds of the bottle. The Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains are available at the official Farmacy Beauty website, as well as Sephora (both online and in-store).
