Friday Favorites: May 27

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites is a series where we share small, seemingly mundane moments from the past week – little details, often overlooked, that comprise this thing we call life.

  • If you shop at KOHL’s, I recently discovered a fabulous deal; I posted it on the FOXY OXIE Facebook page yesterday, but in case you didn’t catch it – you can use promo code “TREEBUD” to receive 15% off your entire purchase, then promo code “SUPERSAVER” for an additional $10 off! I bought this pair of black sandals – originally $59.99 – for $16.99. Talk about a deal!
  • Yesterday I finally finished re-reading Rainer Maria Rilke’s “Letters to a Young Poet” and highly recommend it, especially if you’re into existentialism. I say “finally” because it’s all of 20 pages, and it’s taken me – oh, I don’t know – a month to finish. A little less heavy but equally fabulous read is “Unglued” by Lysa Terkeurst.
  • How excited are you that The Mindy Project is back on? What are some of your favorite shows? Are you watching the Bachelorette this season?
  • This week at the bungalow there’s been lots of kitchen cabinet assembling and hardwood floor installation. The husband is handling the latter while I lead the kitchen assembly. Merely typing those words brings on a bout of hysteria – Me? Assembling a kitchen? Building kitchen cabinets? Let that sink in for a minute… Are you following the #StrelkovBungalow adventure on Instagram?
  • What are your plans for the long weekend? We’re hoping to take our boat out on the river with some friends. While it isn’t necessarily a full-on vacation like I had hoped for, I am nonetheless extremely excited about a whole day of relaxing. Any exciting trips coming up for you in the near future?

Now it’s your turn.

What have you been up to this week? What’s occupying your space/time/brain/life these days?

Can’t wait to hear from you. I hope your weekend is equal parts productive and relaxing.

  1. I’ve never heard of ‘Letters to a Young Poet,’ but it sounds like something I should check out. I also love the Mindy Project! I’ve only seen a few episodes awhile back a plane ride. I really want to watch it from the beginning.

  2. I am mostly definitely watching the bachelorette this season and it makes my Monday’s a little more bearable. Have a great Memorial Day weekend :)
    xoxo, Jenny
