Friday Favorites is a series where we share small, seemingly mundane moments from the past week – little details, often overlooked, that comprise this thing we call life.
Yesterday I celebrated my birthday. Goodbye 26, hello 27…
If you happen to follow me on Snapchat, you saw exactly how the mister and I celebrated: dinner at Terra Mae and a romantic stroll (complete with ice-cream) through Chattanooga’s downtown.
Speaking of Chattanooga, I have been flirting with the idea of starting a new series on the blog – one that highlight some of my favorite local businesses. From coffee shops to restaurants to hotels to stores, I’m always surprised how little other people know about the city’s wide array of interesting and unusual places – much like Terra Mae and its top-knotch dishes, gorgeous decor and the coziest of atmospheres. Within minutes of sharing a few glimpses of the space on Snapchat, I had multiple people inquiring, “Where is this?! Is this a local spot?”
So, if you’re a local reader of FOXYOXIE.com, is this something you’d be interested in reading about? I’d love to gauge your interest!
Anyway, with yesterday being my birthday, I finally gave myself permission to splurge on the bar stools of my dreams. They had been sold out for quite a while, and it’s no coincidence that I received an email the morning of my birthday, notifying me that they were back in stock. Ironically, they are, once again, out of stock, but Wayfair’s website has an amazing feature that will notify you with an email once an item is back in stock.
Speaking of furniture, some of my favorite home decor websites are having major sales for Labor Day:
- Wayfair: Up to 70% off
- Target: Up to 30% off, plus an extra 10% off certain home items
- Crate & Barrel: Annual upholstery sale, with 15% off
- West Elm: Up to 25% off
- Pottery Barn: Up to 25% off
Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to knock out some of the house projects we’ve been putting off, like installing door knobs, the kitchen cabinet hardware, and hopefully start unpacking. But first, a little bit of much-needed R&R: We plan to take the boat out on the river tomorrow.
What have you got planned for the long weekend ahead?
Tell me about your week! What are you doing, searching for, thinking about, and obsessing over these days? If you feel inclined to share, please do so in the comments section, below.
Have a great weekend!
