Finally chose a new rug for the living room...whic Finally chose a new rug for the living room...which prompted some soul-searching and a series of philosophical questions...just like it does for any sane person – right?! Anyway...I wanted to share some of those thoughts with you. "Let's be cheerful! Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant and happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture and the furniture comfortable and beautiful." Laura Ingalls Wilder | November 1917 I have no profound thoughts to add other than to say I think about this quote quite often. It's so easy to let the tangible items take precedence while the intangibles are put on autopilot. The reality however is that our attitude has the biggest effect on our home – far more than paint colors or furniture choices or new rugs. 🖤 "Above all else guard your heart. One of my favorite things about spring is swinging One of my favorite things about spring is swinging open the windows and going about my day feeling the breeze and hearing the chirping birds outside. It's been in the mid-60s here and I am loving it. A palpable shift in mood takes place in the spring – can you feel it too? It is the season of grandest change – and how appropriate that our family is going through a big change too. Yesterday was the husband's last day at his corporate job and he will now be focusing entirely on our various investment properties. We are feeling all the feelings but excitement and gratefulness are at the very very top of that list. 🙏🏼
