Roundup: My Favorite Affordable Patterned Tile Options

Have you seen the patterned tile we’re using in the master bathroom remodel?

If you’re following our renovation on Instagram, you’re probably rolling your eyes at that question. I’ve literally shown you that tile every day for the past month, ha!

I’m sorry, I can’t help it – it’s just too pretty! When I start to feel overwhelmed by the amount of projects we still have to finish (so many!) or all the major purchases I still have to make, I venture over to the master bathroom and just stare at this pretty tile and tell myself all will be alright in the world.

Just kidding…sort of.

The decision to use this patterned tile comes with a bit of a back story. I originally planned to use white penny tile on the floors. We have a lot of it left over from a previous project, and I planned to create a fun, custom pattern a la Beginning in the Middle. But I quickly realized the error of my ways. That endeavor was proving to be extremely soul-sucking (as penny tile tends to be). Instead, I chose something much, much easier to install: large format tile.

However, I didn’t want to lose my patterned, black and white aesthetic. So, I chose this patterned 8 x 8 Amantus Encaustic Glazed Porcelain Patterned Tile, which I combined with charcoal grout for a modern look.

Surprised by how affordable this tile was, I decided to round up some of the other patterned tile options I considered just in case you, too, are in the market for something similar. Patterned tile instantly adds personality and dimension to a room. It has a timeless feel with a bit of old-world charm – like something you’d see in a chic European cafe.

The best part? All 15 of these options are under $6.00 per square foot! It doesn’t get more affordable than that!
